WTH....

It's true. Every time I meet new librarians and their new librarian smell I can't help but want to hit my head on my desk.  The attitude that these fresh-faced graduates have and their "I wear skinny jeans with my nerd glasses and 57 sweaters"... ugh.... I don't even know where to begin. They just... drive me nuts...

election day-after thoughts

Here’s my two cents on the election and why we’re all going to be screwed over anyway.

First off let me say that I haven’t been spewing my political hate all over the internets this year (mainly because everyone else has been) and see no need to add to the already growing ball of hate spewing anrgy tea partyers/rebuplicans.

The reason I feel that we are all screwed is because that people can’t see past themselves to look at the big picture.  Everyone is going to be angry with whatever side opposes their views and nothing will get done but arguing.

I personally think that we should have a librarian for President. Think about it.  We’re not in it for the money (and if you are a librarian in it for the money then we need to have a chat) but to help people who don’t have the advantage. We're here to make sure that everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) has the same opportunites as the person sitting next to them.  We've dealt with all kinds of problems that the public can throw at us (don't believe me? Ask a librarian what is the craziest thing they've delt with.) and can handle it all under pressure. To us it doesn't matter who you are or how much money you have (as long as you pay your fines totally $1.00 eventually) or even of you were born in the US. It doesn't matter because we're about equality.

Imagine That.

So here I am. Sitting here and writing yet another blog about librarians and the lack of respect
